Rogers Middle School Counseling Program
Our counseling department includes 4 counselors with 2 unique roles. These roles are outlined below.
All Counselors:
- Serve as an advocate and resource to parents and caregivers.
- Serve as an advocate and resource to staff.
- Provide services for crisis and trauma situations.
Grade Level Counselors:
- Support a caseload of students based on grade level.
- Provide social, emotional and academic support services by monitoring academic needs, supporting the development of personal skills and collaborating with staff, parents and students.

Prevention and Intervention Counselors:
- Support all students, grades 5 through 8.
- Provide social, emotional and academic learning opportunities for the entire school, entire grade levels, small group settings and individual settings.
- The prevention and intervention counselors intend to run various group opportunities throughout the school year. Some opportunities that will be available to students include: coping skills for anger, coping skills for anxiety, coping skills for sadness/depression, friendship/social skills, academic skills, executive functioning skills, and much more.
